Renan Brandão has a bachelor’s degree in Cinema from Rio de Janeiro and is Baraúna’s founding partner, a film production company which he has in society with major owner Eduardo Morotó. He scripted and directed 4 short films, where “Lágrimas de Ogum” (35mm, 2009), film selected for more than 25 national and international festivals, and “Eu Nunca Deveria Ter Voltado” (35mm, 2012), which won the awards for best direction, best actor and best original soundtrack in 45th Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema in 2012, stands out. His next short film has just being finalized, and it’s called “Ao final da conversa, eles se despedem com um abraço”. On TV, Renan directed 15 episodes of the series “Olho Mágico” (GNT – 2015) and 5 episodes for “Paulo Gustavo na Estrada” (Multishow – 2014), also a TV series. Was trainee of direction in the full-lenght film “Elite squad II” and direction assistant in full-length films, such as “Big Jato” by Cláudio Assis, “Rio da dúvida” by Joel Pizzini and “Amores de Chumbo” by Tuca Siqueira. In the range of visual arts, he directed a video installation on the head-on commission float of Portela, for the 2015th carnival, among other projection videos in theater performances, such as “O estranho caso do cachorro morto” directed by Moacir Goes, and “Criados em Cativeiro” directed by Jefferson Miranda. Currently he is in preparation for the fiction series which he is going to direct and write, entitled “Eu passaria uma vida ao seu lado, mas não esta.”
