Red lipstick is about a hairdresser called Masoumeh who is 36 years old and she never got married!
Her beauty salon is in a poor neighborhood of Tehran Called Shoosh.

RED LIPSTICK is presented in Persian with English subtitles.

RED LIPSTICK will be followed with a prerecorded interview of director Shiva Shajari, by SECS FEST Jury member and poet Jessica Lanay. The film will be preceded by the documentary short film, SOLOGAMY.

Director Biography – Shiva Sanjari

Shiva Sanjari was born in 1980 in Tehran, the capital of Iran. She finished her studies in Graphic Design and Visual Arts in Tehran Azad University. Shiva has exhibited her works at different art galleries around the world. She also has participated at different art related residency programs.

She started her career as a visual artist with over two of dozen exhibitions to her credit .In 2010,when she was a photographer on a documentary film in the slum of India she got tuberculosis and almost lost her life . The two years struggling with her sickness changed her life and art forever .She became interested in everyday people’s lives and their struggles .In 2004 ,she started her debut feature documentary film “Here The Seats Are Vacant” about the life of Iranian actress after the Iranian Revolution that took her away from the screen forever and turned her life upside down .The film won the Pioneer Female Director Award at Downtown Los Angles Film Festival in 2017, Shiva was commissioned by Europe’s Arte and made a 26 minute documentary called Beauty Salon that premiered on the network in June 2018.
