Director Biography – Ashley Paige, Cat Gold
Cat Gold is a non-binary hairy femme, leather dyke, pornographer, sex worker, and visionary pervert. They spend their time adoring queers and fellow whores both behind and in front of the camera as a photographer, director, performer, and full-time freak. Work from their beloved queer smut project, Drip Films, has screened internationally since 2019 in festivals such as Hacker Porn Film Festival, Berlin Porn Film Festival, San Francisco Porn Film Festival, Ce L’Ho Corto Film Festival, Nachtschatten BDSM/Fetish Film Festival, Hot Bits Queer XXX Film Fest, (S)exhibitions, Smut Club Erotic Film Festival, SECS Fest, and Pr0n4Freakz. They feel lucky to shoot such hot, messy, silly, dreamy, gay portraits of and for queer, trans, and sex working babes in hopes that the world may become more sexually expressive and expansive in desire. Ashley Paige (She/They/Daddy) is a Black, Queer, non-binary femme & all-around pervert who has taken New York City by storm for well over a decade. As a Professional Dominatrix, BDSM educator, Queer Fetish Porn Performer & Smut Maker, she is an outspoken sex worker with over 15 years of experience that creates and inspires change in every community to which she belongs. A passionate performer on and off camera, Ashley is no stranger to the screen or the stage. Her work has appeared in SXSW Shorts, Kink.com, Berlin Porn Film Festival, San Francisco PornFilmFestival, Museum of Sex, and countless others. In addition, she has performed on many stages, including, most recently at KinkOut’s MoMA PS1 event, SPACES – a show which celebrates and builds alliances between New York City’s art, activism, kink/leather, and sex work communities. She has been interviewed and featured in several kink/sex worker related books, documentaries, magazines, and podcasts & has contributed work published in the anthology titled We Too: Essays on Sex Work and Survival. Ashley has also spoken about the criminalization of BIPOC sex workers, survival sex work, and the impacts of Sesta/Fosta on panels at MoMA: PS1 Spaces, Leslie Lohman Center, Cornell, and at conferences across the world. Through sharing her unique perspective gained through the intersections of kink, race, intimacy, vulnerability, & sex – Ashley diligently works towards shattering the stereotypes against Black women, Queer creatives, & sex workers. All while highlighting that kink can be a healing experience for all, regardless of identity.
