The Seattle Erotic Art Festival

This weekend, April 27 – 29, is the Seattle Erotic Art Festival.
And for the first time, the Seattle Erotic Cinema Society has provided a film for exhibition at SEAF. So if you attend the Art festival, make sure to look for the film kiosk as if  you peek inside, you will see Neil Needleman’s experimental work that was included in Sexperimental Short Films at SECS FEST 2017.

Cellular Activity: BEDTIME STORIES
dir. Neil Needleman
6 min
Bedtime Stories is part of Needleman’s ongoing Cellular Activity series, videos that are based on looped “cells” that evolve and transform, usually on a single-frame level. In this film, hardcore porn footage, mostly derived from old VHS tapes, was used to create the visually more rhythmic short composed of repeated images of the thrusting and heaving motions that is explicitly on display in pornography.
So if you missed the film at SECS FEST 2018, you can see the  silent version of the film all weekend at the Art Festival. Actually, Neil intended the film to be viewed as part of a gallery exhibition and the soundtrack was added for SECS FEST.
In addition to the art festival, SECS has another event coming up, a co-presentation with Something Weird and the American Genre Film Archive.
